The Inaugural Race4Life Track Day at Teretonga in February this year was a wonderful affair. Thanks to the amazing passion and kindness of the Southland community, this day ran like clockwork.
Working closely with Shirley Smith from Hospice Southland, the Trust played host to 25 patients and their families.
As with the North Island equivalent, patients had the choice of riding in race cars at phenomenal speeds around the very fast Teretonga Track. After lunch the focus changed to driving in luxury. On the track were a choice of luxury and X factor cars, including the vehicle that belonged to Denny Hulme. Rides in a helicopter, in big rig trucks and motorbikes were also available with the community of Southland all rallying together to make it happen.
It was fantastic to take the Race4Life Team to Invercargill and to feel so welcomed in the community. We are so looking forward to securing a date for the 2020 Race4Life Track Day
Thank you Invercargill.
