Targa Hawkes Bay

The weather could not have been better. Yes a little cold in the mornings, but the days were perfect Rally Days!

Over 80 cars lined up for the Targa Hawkes Bay 2019 . The Rally began in Rotorua, covered a good part of the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato, before travelling through the Hawkes Bay and finishing in Havelock North.

Race4Life had a team of 9 who followed the Rally and looked for every opportunity to treat the drivers!

Each morning chocolates kindly donated by WHITTAKERS were handed to each driver and co driver , along with a bottle of water supplied by DAVID MELROSE DESIGN (DMD).

The team met the drivers at their lunch break and replenished supplies. The goodies donated by WILSON CONSUMER PRODUCTS were a lovely addition to the chocolates.

Through the selling of stickers, the enforcing of fines  and the raffle, Race4Life raised a total of $18,500. A wonderful effort for three days.

All this money goes directly to the Wish Service, enabling patients all over New Zealand to have their wishes become a reality.

We would not have been able to do this if it were not for HUMES PIPELINES and their incredible support for our cause.

Humes paid for the travelling expenses, food and accommodation of all the Race4Life Team members.

The next Targa Rally starts on October 28th in Taupo. The Ultimate Rally Group will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Targa at this event.
