Targa Hawkes Bay: 17th – 20th May
Peter Martin from the Ultimate Rally Group (URG) confirmed the partnership with Race4Life, making the Trust, their chosen charity for five years.
Race4Life is sending a team to the Hawkes Bay to raise funds and awareness in the Targa family and community.
DAY 1
It has begun! The Race4Life Team made their way to Taupo earlier this week to play their part as the chosen charity in the North Island Targa NZ Rally. Making best of the situation Alex and Viv were warmly welcomed at Lake Taupo Hospice where they presented the work of the Trust to an audience of Health Professionals. It has been wonderful to raise awareness of the work we do in this beautiful part of the country.
This morning the Rally got underway with the drivers of both the Tour and Competition groups being farewelled by our fabulous team. Yesterday at scrutineering the Targa community responded very generously to the Trust’s fundraising initiatives. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! What fun this is!! To Victoria and Peter, you guys at Ultimate Rally Group have given Race4Life Trust a wonderful opportunity to spread the word of our beautiful work. You totally rock
Legendary Racing Ray Williams took five Lake Taupo Hospice patients for a thrill ride around Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park yesterday as part of the local promotion of the Targa Rally event. So fitting that this week just happens to be Hospice Awareness Week. Thank you Ray. Your enthusiasm is infectious!!
DAY 2
What a fun day with this lot!! Both the Targa Tour and Competition folk have had an awesome time, as have our Race4Life Team. Here are some images from a very cool day.
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jane and David Mackersey. Thank you so much for the use of the booth which housed all our gear throughout our time in Havelock North. We so appreciated the coffees and your wonderful support.
Day 3
Over the last few days the Ultimate Rally group gave Race4Life Trust a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the work we do. The Targa NZ North Island event was very successful with both the communities of Taupo and Hawkes Bay embracing the occasion. The Targa entrants were very generous with their donations to the Trust. Over the weekend we raised over $16000 for the Wish Service. Being a volunteer based service everything raised goes directly to the Wishes. How cool!!
The raffle was a great success and had appeal both in the Targa family and in the greater communities. A huge thank you to all those who donated products and experiences towards the raffle:
