The Silver Fern Rally is held very two years in either the North or South Island, and is run by the Ultimate Rally Group (URG)
As part of our partnership with the Ultimate Rally Group (URG), Race4Life followed the 2018 Silver Fern Rally for the 8 days that it toured a good portion of the North Island. The Rally began in Hamilton on the 23rd November and finished in Rotorua on Saturday 1st December. The small Race4Life team held the banner in the rain and ghastly weather, and in the process raised money for our cause and further awareness throughout the North Island. It was fantastic to relay our message to yet another sector of New Zealanders and to inform the overseas entrants of the beautiful work we do.
Each morning the team would send the drivers off with a special treat of lollies and water to see them through the day. The drivers and their teams were so appreciative of this gesture, their generosity in donations was testament to this.
As always, the money raised goes directly to our Wish Service, helping patients all over New Zealand fulfil their dying wishes.
A huge thank you goes to Peter Martin and Victoria Main and all the rest of the fantastic Ultimate Rally Group. Targa NZ. The support and passion you have for our cause, allows our message to be relayed to communities throughout New Zealand, truly making a difference in people’s lives.
