Timothy Tamati

Race4Life / Timothy Tamati
A day out on the water fishing was the special wish request for 58 year old Timothy Tamati who has a diagnosis of lung cancer.
Timothy’s wish was made possible by a very special volunteer Darryl Mac, who gave his time and boat to help fulfil this beautiful wish. Darryl’s capable co-skipper for the day was Bryce Imms who was more than willing to join in on the day’s big adventure!
With the help of Auckland Co-op Taxis, Timothy, daughter Alex and granddaughter Sapphire were picked up bright and early and headed off to meet their capable crew at the marina 🚤
Food fit for Poseidon, God of the Sea himself was donated by the amazing Ripe Deli, and another fantastic volunteer Mike Masfen did a great job to deliver the delicious meal to the awaiting fisherman and fisherwomen!
Darryl choose a wonderful spot between Motuhie and Waiheke and out near the Noises that delivered a dozen fish, with Sapphire reeling in the biggest catch of the day. Great work Sapphire! 🐟🐠To top off a perfect boating day, Motuhie was also the chosen spot for a well earned swim and cool down!
Timothy had an absolutely magical day out on the water, blessed with great weather, a very spacious and comfortable boat and food both delicious and plentiful!
After Darryl returned the family safe and sound to dry land, Auckland Co-op Taxis were waiting to take them and their catch home. Timothy was then able to share a wonderful feast with his family that evening, during which we are sure there would have been some tall tales about the one that got away!
A perfect day was created for Timothy thanks to the AMAZING PEOPLE that made this wish happen. Thank you so very very much for your wholehearted kindness and generosity💛
