Raewyn Thomson

Race4Life / Raewyn Thomson

62-year-old car mad Raewyn, has been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Raewyn has shared a passion for fast moving loud cars, with her brother throughout her life and therefore they have created a close bond.

“The smell of the fuel and the sounds of all those V8’s running is like heaven. My brother and I love Super V8 cars especially when Bathhurst is running. We have a friendly rivalry with me supporting Holden’s and him supporting whatever wins!”
Raewyn’s special wish was to spend some time with her brother, and to indulge together in their motor sport interest by attending the V8 Supersprints at Pukekohe.

Raewyn was gifted tickets to the event by Greg Murphy and enjoyed a full day of fun at the Pukekohe track with her brother Brett. On Saturday 14th September evening the siblings took off to the Sky Tower to celebrate Brett’s birthday, with his family. The meal for 5 at Orbit restaurant, which was kindly gifted by Sky City.

Raewyn did admit to her fear of heights but laughingly said “ I’ve got way more on my plate now, so heights will be easy to conquer” 😃
A HUGE Thank you to Greg Murphy and Orbit Sky Tower Restaurant for making Raewyn’s wish come true!
