88 year old Eric Rogers had always wanted to enjoy the beauty of the TranzAlpine rail trip. 1953 had been the last time that Eric had stepped foot in the South Island.
With an opportunity for a wish, this brave man who suffers from Pancreatic Cancer put forward a wish to travel with his friend and caregiver Ron, and experience this epic journey.
Not only did the pair, travel across to the coast on the TranzAlpine Express and enjoy the hospitality of the West Coasters, they visited some very special spots in Christchurch, from Eric’s youth.
We sincerely thank all concerned for helping make Eric’s dream come true.
