Courtney Edgar is a 64 year old gentleman from Napier with a diagnosois of thyroid cancer.
Courtney had a wish to travel up a chair lift in Queenstown, but when we found out about his love of cars and speed, we could not resist including a visit to Highlands Motorsport Park, in close by Cromwell, to this high octane wish!
The Crowne Plaza Queenstown who are such incredible supporters of our patients, once again provided the most amazing accommodation with million-dollar views of picturesque Queenstown. Stewart and his amazing team looked after the couple beautifully and also provided breakfast each morning.
On arrival in Queenstown, the pair called into GO Rentals who also support our patients so beautifully, to pick up the ideal rental car that was all ready and waiting to take them on their adventure!
On their stay, they couple were treated to beautiful food and were made to feel welcome by caring and attentive service in Queenstown by Lone Star Queenstown, Winnies Gourmet Pizza Bar and Brazz Steakhouse & Bar. They also treated to beautiful food and service during a trip to Arrowtown by The Fork And Tap Ale House Arrowtown. As a further treat, a trip on the TSS Earnslaw with a BBQ lunch at Walter Peak thanks to Realnz, and a relaxing hot soak in the stunning ONSEN Hot Pools were also generously donated. Both were amazing experiences enjoyed by both.
Next stop Cromwell! Rachel and the amazing Highlands Motorsport Park could not have been better hosts and provided the perfect speed rush for Courtney, who was even treated to an extra lap just to be sure! A wander around the incredible Highlands’ Museum and lunch were the icing on the cake!
Last but not least on the final night, the Skyline Queenstown Gondola and those breathtaking views awaited to grant Courtney his wish to see Queenstown from the sky. The couple enjoyed a few luge rides before being seated at the best table for dinner at the Stratosfare Restaurant & Bar, where of course the natural, beautiful views are on the house!
We cannot thank these amazing businesses enough, and are so grateful for their incredible kindness. Courtney’s words sum up this gratitude perfectly ….. “Everyone was just so amazing, so giving, so caring and we felt so taken care of. We were so incredibly humbled by all the amazing places we visited and just the generosity of all the people that have been a part of my wish. I feel so positive and so good. We cannot thank all these people enough for what they have done for us.
