Amelia Smith is one very special human being. This delightful 36 year old young lady has amazing grit and determination to live life to its fullest.
On her bucket list over the years, since her cancer diagnosis in 2012, Amelia has not only managed a holiday through Europe with her husband, Mike, but she also trained and competed in the Coast 2Coast at the beginning of 2017.
Time is running out for the incredibly courageous Amelia. However there is one more thing she really wants to do.
Amelia has been a fan of PINK since she was 15. She has admired and followed the career of this sensational singing artist for much of her life. Amelia and Mike bought tickets earlier in the year and were all set to go to the concert in Auckland
There has been a change in Amelia’s health, so in order for her dream to become a reality, we needed to put a few guidelines around the trip to Auckland, to make it safe for all concerned. Ticketmaster have kindly changed the Smith’s tickets so that their seats are easily accessible for Amelia. Spark Arenahave done all they can to make Amelia’s experience hassle free. Dove House Hospice have made a wheelchair available for Amelia’s use while she is in Auckland.
Amelia will be arriving in The City of Sails on September 10th and will be staying till the 12th. She is needing special attention whilst in Auckland and will be staying at Domain Lodge, where they offer accommodation for cancer patients and their families.
The Upcafe, Ripe Deli, and The Welcome Eatery, have all offered to look after Amelia and Mike for meals.
Ian Johnstone will be their driver and will look after their travelling needs in a Porsche, kindly donated by Continental Cars NZ.
This is a very special concert for a very special young woman. We wish Amelia and Mike a simply wonderful time together.
